The Perfect Gift...

ree

I had quite a few ideas for what I wanted to post for this blog.  All of which were related to massage therapy.  However, due to some circumstances, I was inspired to take some lemons and make some lemonade.

Earlier this month, I had a conversation with someone who had recently lost a very close friend.  This person had asked me if I had ever lost anyone within my age catagory.  Death is something that I have a very hard time coming to terms with that eventually one day I will leave this life.  In my life I have lost loved ones due to various reasons.  Not even a day after this conversation I logged into Facebook and discovered something that still shakes me to my core.  One of my friends from elementary school was in a tragic car accident and lost his life.  My heart sank.  In my younger years, I was very close with him and his family, however we did lose touch mid way through high school.  However I could not imagine what his family and close friends are going through right now.  Although I never truly knew the man that he had become, I knew he was a great guy.  It really shifted a lot of things into a different perspective.  How someone MY AGE is no longer with us?  It gives me chills even thinking about that.

One night a while ago, my husband and I sat down and watched the movie "Lucy" (starring Scarlett Johanssen).  It is a great movie - I highly recommend it.  But there is a line closer to the end of the movie that I cannot stop thinking about. (Spoiler Alert in effect)

"Film a car speeding down a road. Speed up the image, infinitely. And the car disappears. So what proof do we have of it's existence? Time gives legitimacy to it's existence. Time is the only true unit of measure. It gives proof the the existence of matter. Without time, we don't exist."

Every second of every single day cannot be relived.  You do not get a second chance to go back.  To do things over, or to spend more time doing something.

So what is the PERFECT gift to give someone?  Not a car, or jewelry or any other materialistic item.  It's TIME.  Spend time together with the ones your love and fill your life with positive vibes!  Spend more time doing the things you love that give you joy and be happy!  Sit down, make a nice meal and have a conversation with people.

Humans are created, live their lives, and then pass on.  We truly do not know when that time will come, and as haunting as that is, it is the truth.  So live your life in a way that makes you happy and spend the time doing things that make YOU HAPPY.  And also, don't disrespect or waste the time of other because they will never get that time back.

Time is a precious gift that many of us take for granted.  One of my passions (if you haven't already guessed) is spending my valuable time getting to know you and helping you heal from whatever you are coming in with.  And if I cannot help you, I'll point you in a direction of someone who can because  I don't want to waste your valuable time.

So I ask you this: Are you truly happy with  your life? And if I not, what can you do to be happy?

You only get one shot at this crazy thing we call life,so make the best of it!

Thank you for reading my rant.  Have a great day, and try to keep cool!

I'd like to dedicate this blog to the Buffam Family.  Please send your thoughts and prayers to them in their time of need.
